It might be the middle of winter, but we get our spring cleaning done early here at Russborough. Behind closed doors we're busy preparing for our opening in February, this month is spent getting the house ready for another year highlighting our long history.
We start our year as so many do, taking down our Christmas decorations and following it up with a deep clean of each and every room in order to freshen up the house, polishing silver and dusting the unique collection of various paintings, tapestries and statues on display here.
Since no two tours are alike, and we feel the same about our year-to-year layout, we take this annual opportunity to make any necessary changes along the way.
We have also at this time begun the annual stock take for the ever-expanding range of unique goods on offer in our gift shop.
(And at this time, please spare a thought for the poor staff working without their usual dose of coffee from our cafeteria, as that’s something we open just for you.)
Currently, our grounds are being remodelled to bring some life back to our maze (and maybe add a new turn or two for you to get lost in). We are also taking the opportunity to further an ongoing renovation project that we will cover in the coming weeks/months. We’re staying tight lipped now, but the results will be eye catching soon enough.
We have a lot in store for our guests this year and intend to hit the ground running the moment we re-open. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve done with the place.
