Wicklow Mountains Cycle Challenge

Wicklow Mountains Cycle Challenge is an annual event organised by St James’s Hospital Foundation with all proceeds going to St James’s Hospital, Dublin. Now in its fifth year and with the total funds raised in excess of €75,000, we are delighted to play host to this worthwhile event which both starts and finishes in the grounds of Russborough.

A Pool for West Wicklow

This dynamic community group actively campaigns for a Community Swimming Pool in the West Wicklow area. They have partnered with Russborough on lots of fantastic events including Christmas markets and family fun days. In 2019 Minister Simon Harris promised that West Wicklow will get its public swimming pool within the next two years - a great result for this energetic team.

Educate Together Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Each year, the Blessington Educate Together National School holds its Teddy Bear’s Picnic at Russborough. This free, fun-filled, family event raises much needed funds for the school with a Raffle, Story Telling, Teddy Bear & Dolls Hospital, Gardening, Baking, Crafts, Superheroes and lots more. Bring your own picnic and your favourite Teddy!

Candlelight Walk

This annual event is organised by St Mary’s Church, Blessington to benefit both the church and the Irish Cancer Society. A magical atmosphere is created along two kilometres of walkway by lighting the path with hundreds of candles. One of the busiest Autumn nights in Russborough with hundreds supporting this worthwhile cause and enjoying the wonderful sight.

The Reservoir Dog Sportive

A unique cycling sportive event hosted by the Reservoir Cogs Cycling club based in nearby Blessington. All proceeds raised by the Reservoir Dog Sportive are donated to charity to fund local Environmental enhancement and community projects. A challenging but rewarding cycle, the 125km route takes on some of the most demanding climbs in Ireland whilst keeping to quiet and breathtaking scenic roads. The 65km event takes in a hilly and spectacular circuit of the Blessington Reservoir and introduces the rider to some hidden gems of roads.

Park Run

Parkruns are free, weekly, timed events across the world, organised by local volunteers. Here at Russborough we are delighted to welcome all levels of participant - walkers, joggers, runners - every Sunday morning to complete their 2k course. Parkrun is all about inclusiveness and wellbeing and we want as many people as possible to feel part of the global parkrun family.
